FAQ

  • Can I book an appointment?

No, we have drop-in every day, so you don’t need to book an appointment.

  • What is your age limit?

– The age limit for piercing is 15 years, but we go down to 13 years if you are accompanied by a guardian. For earlobe piercing, the limit is 4 years.

We cannot approve notes, or approval over the phone, etc. Approved ID must be presented!

  • How long should I wash the piercing?

Once your piercing has healed and looks good, you can reduce the amount of cleaner. Step down slowly. This gives your body a chance to take care of the piercing itself. After that, rinse the piercing daily when you’re in the shower.

  • Can I get an infection?

If you have had your piercing at Posh Piercing and follow their treatment plan and advice, the chances are minimal. Naturally, we want you to come to us if any problems arise and we will help you solve this in the best possible way. If you have any questions, please call us or send an email to info@poshpiering.com

  • How long is the delivery time for jewelry from your webshop?

The delivery time varies mainly on Posten / Bring’s delivery time. The usual delivery time is 2-3 working days, but can in some cases be 10 working days.

  • What are the terms of sale from your online store?

Here is a link to the terms of sale for purchases from the online store.

  • Can I exchange a piece of piercing jewelry I bought from you?

Our piercing jewelry is classified as hygiene articles, and can therefore not be exchanged after purchase in our physical store. They can be exchanged for purchases from our online store within the return period as long as the seal has not been broken. This is to be able to assure our customers (including you) that the piercings have not been used by anyone else.

  • What should I do if the piercing becomes red or irritated?

If you need help or consultation, call the emergency number on your warranty card, or contact us via email or Instagram.

  • Is there any scientific evidence or research to support Daith piercing for pain management?

No. Some people with migraines say they have experienced relief from their symptoms after getting a piercing, but the evidence here is purely anecdotal and there is no research to support that theory. Both The American Migraine Foundation & Posh Piercing believe that many eventual results are temporary and may be a product of the placebo effect. Unfortunately, we have seen many unprofessional and amateur piercers using this as a sales technique.

  • What is VIP earstyling?

VIP ear styling is a concept where we work together to create a personal design for your ears with jewelry and piercings based on what you like and your style. The minimum price starts from 1500;- and upwards depending on the type of piercings and jewelry you choose. This is the only type of appointment that can be booked as we otherwise only have drop-in. This type of appointment is set for 10:00 am before regular opening hours without other customers present. The appointment usually takes between 1-1.5 hours. For more information click here.

  • What does placement guarantee mean?

When you come to us for a piercing, we assess both your anatomy and your wishes for the placement. After we have agreed, we mark exactly where the jewelry should be placed. Nevertheless, it sometimes happens that customers come home and want to adjust the position by a few millimeters. With our placement guarantee, you can have your piercing replaced – completely free of charge – within 14 days. The warranty also applies if, for example, the piercing has become warped due to pressure from clothing or sleeping on it over time. In such cases, we will adjust the piercing at no extra cost. Please note that the warranty tag must always be brought with you physically, and the jewelry must remain in place – it cannot be removed at home. The adjustment must be done at our studio.

  • What is included in the lifetime warranty?

All our customers receive a lifetime guarantee, which means that all replacements of jewelry, as well as follow-up and consultation with us, are free of charge as long as you have the warranty card. You also have an emergency number where you can reach us around the clock. We guide you based on statistics based on more than 100,000 customers over our 40 years in the industry. The lifetime guarantee does not cover new piercings if you have removed the piercing yourself without contacting us in advance. Nor if they lose the jewelry and do not contact us right away.

  • What is valid identification?

In order to get a piercing, you must be able to show valid identification, such as a driver’s license, passport, bank card with photo, etc.
The identification must be physically present (not a photo of the identification).

  • Does it hurt to get a piercing?

The experience of piercing pain varies from person to person and is influenced by the individual’s pain threshold, the type of piercing and how the procedure is performed. When choosing a professional piercer, the process is carried out in a controlled and efficient manner.

At Posh, we use small, sterile disposable needles , especially when piercing nipples, lips, eyebrows, nose and ears, where larger dimensions are often used elsewhere. The use of smaller and more precise needles provides a more gentle intervention in the tissue. This often provides better healing conditions, can contribute to a shorter healing time and for many is perceived as less painful.

If the customer wants a more pronounced expression, we can of course use larger jewelry dimensions and customized needles. This is always assessed individually and in close dialog with the customer before the piercing is performed.

The pain itself is usually short-lived, and is mainly experienced only at the moment the needle is passed through the skin. It normally lasts one to two seconds, before the discomfort quickly subsides.

  • How long does it take for a piercing to heal?

The definition of healing time for a piercing can vary, as it is interpreted differently. Some define healing time as the period until you can change the jewelry, others as how long the piercing should be actively cleaned. Some define healing as complete when you have reached a stage where the piercing can be left without jewelry for a long time without the canal closing.

For most piercings, active cleaning can be discontinued after about two months, provided healing is proceeding normally. Jewelry replacement can usually be completed after around three months, but this always varies depending on the type of piercing and individual circumstances.

For piercings with swelling during the healing period, a longer piece of piercing jewelry is initially used to provide sufficient space. Once the swelling has subsided, it is recommended to change to a shorter piece of jewelry to reduce strain and friction against the tissue. At Posh, this jewelry change is included and is carried out free of charge, both jewelry and change. Customers are always given clear information about this in the studio in connection with the piercing.

When it comes to when you can be without jewelry without the piercing growing back, this is a significantly longer process. It can take up to a year, and even after that there is no full guarantee that the canal will remain open. After one year, however, the conditions are significantly better than earlier in the healing period.

  • When can I exchange jewelry in a new piercing?

The time when the frog jewelry can be replaced varies from piercing to piercing, and depends on the type of piercing, the customer’s individual anatomy and the healing process. For this reason, it is important to have a good and continuous dialog with your piercer, who knows your piercing and your healing process.

At Posh, all customers receive a warranty card, which specifies the recommended time for jewelry replacement, as well as the correct jewelry type and dimension, individually adapted to the customer’s anatomy and bodily conditions.

  • Can I sleep on my piercing after it has been done?

It is recommended to avoid pressure and friction on a new piercing for the first two to three months, as this can cause irritation and disrupt the healing process. For this reason, it is not recommended to sleep directly on a new piercing during this period.

  • Do you get scars after piercing?

Yes, it is possible to get scars after a piercing. How visible the scar will be depends largely on how the piercing is treated and cared for over time. With correct hygiene, proper aftercare and good follow-up, the scar will usually be small and discreet.

At Posh, we use sterile disposable needles in the smallest possible dimension. This means minimal trauma to the skin and tissue, which provides better conditions for optimal healing. If you decide to remove the jewelry at a later date, the skin will have a better ability to contract and the risk of a visible scar is significantly reduced.

  • Is it safe to get a piercing during pregnancy?

It is possible to get a piercing when you are pregnant, and we perform piercings on pregnant women who want them. At the same time, we always recommend that you consult your GP or midwife before coming to us, so that the decision is well adapted to the individual’s health situation.

  • Which material is best for piercing?

When it comes to choosing a material for your piercing, we always recommend HSAC-approved surgical steel or titanium. These materials are considered the safest and most reliable options on the market.

Surgical steel (HSAC approved) is developed specifically for medical use. It is 100% nickel-free, highly durable and has a smooth surface that reduces the risk of irritation and infection. This makes the material suitable for both new and existing piercings.

Titanium is one of the most widely used materials in medical devices and implants. It is hypoallergenic, extremely lightweight and contains no allergenic metals.

  • Why is Posh Piercing one of the best places for piercing in Norway?

Posh Piercing is considered one of the best places to get a piercing because we have the most customers in all of Scandinavia, and because we were the first and largest in the industry. This has given us a very long and solid experience.

As early as the 1980s, we began systematically running studies and collecting statistics based on our customers. Over time, this has given us a comprehensive knowledge base and valuable insights that directly benefit our customers.

We also work closely with doctors, and both registered nurses and infection control nurses work in our studio. This ensures a high level of medical expertise and professional quality at all levels.

When it comes to price, we offer very competitive terms in relation to what is included. Our prices include both a lifetime guarantee and a placement guarantee, as well as an approved HSAC piece of jewelry that is 100% allergy and nickel-free.

Furthermore, jewelry exchange is included in the price. Once the swelling has gone down, which applies to approximately 95% of all piercings, we carry out the exchange free of charge, including both new jewelry and the exchange procedure itself.

For added peace of mind, we also offer a dedicated emergency telephone number so that our customers can always get in touch with us if they have any questions or need follow-up after the piercing has been done. To our knowledge, no other piercing studio in the world offers a similar arrangement, which gives our customers a unique sense of security both during and after their visit with us.
